Surveillance and Leasing Surveillance Equipment
Surveillance is a process that involves close observation (monitoring) of the behaviour and/or activities of a single person or a group of people. In the field of law enforcement, surveillance commonly means using electronic or other technological equipment to monitor from a distance. There are different ways for carrying out surveillance like phone tapping, electronic tagging, eavesdropping, surveillance through the internet, CCTV surveillance, by implanting bugs, using GPS tracking devices, using reconnaissance aircraft and satellites...the list goes on.With regard to civilians, there are two types of surveillance: passive surveillance and direct (intrusive) surveillance. In passive surveillance, the actions of a person(s) are monitored indirectly through financial transactions or communication media. In direct surveillance however, there is direct intrusion into the activities of that person or organization. This is done using the technical methods mentioned in the preceding paragraph.
The police and other law enforcement agencies require a wide range of surveillance equipment to carry out their various activities. By leasing this equipment, the burden of tax is reduced and there are several other monetary gains.
